Church of Orca
Beliefs & Practices
We are born of the sea, and to the sea we return
At the heart of the Church of Orca lies a sacred truth: the Orcas are the all-powerful beings. Orcas are guardians of the great depths and stewards of the eternal currents that flow through all life.
We, their children of the shore, walk upon land for a time, learning to listen, to serve, and to live in harmony with the vastness of creation. In the fullness of time, when our journey here is complete, we are reborn into the sea. Joining a new pod, each soul taking the form that reflects the devotion and compassion we’ve carried through life.
The Eternal Pod
We believe that when the body’s tide ebbs, the spirit flows on, returning to the deep as dolphin, seal, or orca, according to the depth of devotion carried within. There, among the endless currents, we join a new pod, forever singing the songs of those who came before us.
Core Beliefs
-
The Orcas are the Supreme Currents of Power. They govern the balance of ocean and sky, teaching us that strength is most divine when paired with grace.
-
Life is a Tide, Not a Line. Each of us flows between states of learning, serving, and becoming. Always returning, always renewed.
-
Death is Not an Ending. In death, we are reborn into the waters, joining a pod of spirit and song that continues our work beneath the waves.
-
Harmony is the Holiest Act. To care for the sea, for each other, and for all living things is to align oneself with the will of the Orcas.
Stages of Devotion
The journey of a Church of Orca member is one of deepening connection, both spiritual and practical. As devotion and service grow, members progress through the sacred stages. Each stage a reflection of the life within and around us.
Otter

The Drifting Tide
Newcomers who learn to float together. Building community and holding hands. Otters attend gatherings, participate in reflection circles, and begin their Tide Journals to record insights, dreams, and lessons from the ocean’s rhythm.
Seal

The Keeper of Song
Guides of rhythm and devotion. Seals curate Resonance Workshop playlists, lead call-and-response meditations, and mentor Otters in daily habits of gratitude, journaling, and reflection.
Dolphin

The Bridging Current
Ambassadors of light and learning. Dolphins move fluidly between pods, helping bridge the spiritual and the practical. They coordinate community rituals, teach the meanings behind the sacred songs, and lead smaller groups in acts of service and mindfulness. (The Dolphin stage honors those who serve through wisdom and connection: embodying joy, empathy, and deep listening.)
Humpback

The Guiding Song
Keepers of resonance and responsibility. Humpbacks oversee regional gatherings, steward community resources, and form partnerships for marine conservation and education. Their songs echo the will of the Grand Matriarch across the waters.
Orca

The Inner Current
The most devoted, recognized by the Grand Matriarch for unwavering alignment and quiet service. Orcas embody the essence of peace and power: teaching not through command, but through presence. They are the living reflections of the divine beings themselves.
Our Practices
-
Gatherings on the Water All ceremonies, meditations, and celebrations take place upon the water. Hop abord your kayak, boat, or gather at the tide’s edge. Each meeting opens with the Call of the Deep: a moment of shared silence to listen for the ocean’s voice.
-
Tidal Reflections Members maintain journals inspired by the movement of the tides. Recording gratitude, personal growth, and lessons from the sea as you navigate your devotion to the the orcas.
-
The Resonance Workshops Guided meditations and sound journeys using whale song, ocean rhythms, and choral harmony to deepen spiritual connection.
-
Fellowship Nights Seasonal gatherings under the moon and stars where members share stories, music, and acts of kindness, and always leaving the shore cleaner than they found it.
